Early Years

At Carlton Hill Primary School, we follow the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'. This framework is mandatory for all early years providers in England.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential.

Areas of Learning and Development

There are seven areas of learning and development that shape our Early Years curriculum. These seven areas of learning and development are important and inter-connected. The level of development children should be expected to have attained by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is defined by the early learning goals (ELGs).
